In this annual event (Berlin's Long Night of Sciences, June 13, 2009), university and research institutes open their doors from 5pm to 1am for the public to see what's going on in Berlin's scientific community.
For the Computer Science Department of Freie Universität, the FUmanoids presented themselves, showing their capabilities to the audience.

RoboCup German Open 2009 took place 20-24 April, 2009, in Hannover. The Iran Open gave us good hints for many additional improvements which we tried to set up for this competition, but time was getting short so we still needed the help of our experienced players, Kiki and Lean. We won 3rd price.

Iran Open 2009 took place April 4-6 2009 in Qazvin, Iran. FUmanoids participated in the humanoid league, together with the Darmstadt Dribblers and 8 Iranian teams. This was the first competition our new robots had to play in. However they weren't quite finished yet (one was literally assembled during the competition) and there were still some major issues with both hard- and software, so we still had to rely on the help of Lola and Kiki.
In the end, Darmstadt Dribblers won first place, and we landed on the second (a combination that would repeat itself three months later at RoboCup 2009 ;-))
